CE: No Post/No Crown Restorative Dentistry |
| |
The growing demand of patients for esthetic or metal-free restorations, together with the ongoing interest of the dental profession for tissue-preserving materials have led to the development of adhesive restorations. It is now clearly established, that a new biomimetic approach to restorative dentistry is possible through the structured use of advanced restorative materials and the generation of a hard tissue bond (enamel and dentin bonding). This presentation will review some of the most provocative concepts that will change the face of restorative dentistry and result in the total abandon of traditional principles of retention and resistance form, the so-called "no-post no-crown" era.

CE: Common Conditions All Dentists and Dental Hygienists Should Recognize |
| |
The oral cavity is home to hundreds of diseases most of which are common and innocuous. However, even innocuous conditions may have more serious conditions in their differential diagnosis. Moreover, common conditions may be overlooked, passed off as "nothing" or ignored by patients and their dental team. Any of these failures to specifically diagnose may open clinicians up to legal recrimination. This presentation then will re-visit a number of common pathologic conditions of the oral cavity and will focus upon etiology, pathogenesis, differential diagnosis, diagnostic method(s), treatment and prognosis where relevant. At the conclusion attendees will have re-acquired detailed information that may have been previously learned but forgotten, been reminded of the importance of differential diagnosis in determining next steps in establishing a definitive diagnosis and will have received information on appropriate management of many of these varied conditions.

CE: Night With The Experts |
| |
Do you have a practical new technique you would like to share? Perhaps your expertise is in new materials and/or clinical or investigative research, or maybe an area of practice management, digital radiography, or office design? If it applies to the art and science of dentistry, how about sharing it with your colleagues?
Our Tuesday, September 14, 2010 continuing education program is a special one because it will highlight two or three of our own Los Angeles members. Los Angeles is fortunate to have experts who lecture nationally and internationally - and we are sure that there are many other talented people in our Society not on the speaking tour who might like to share some tip or technique.
